Associating EACs to Allocations

Allocations can now be finalized and associated with certificate IDs using registry cancellation transactions uploaded to the platform. This improved flow supports any registry use case, including scenarios involving multiple granularities. The certificate IDs will then be listed in end-consumer PDF reports and can also be explored within the platform.

There are two ways to finalise an allocation and associate it with certificate IDs:

  1. Performing an allocation in the platform, followed by the cancellation of related certificate volumes in your registry.
  • The process is as follows:
    • For a given allocation in the “Allocations” page, click the button “Generate cancellation instructions”.
    • In the pop-up, select the certificate's rounding mode - Pooled or non-pooled:
      • Pooled: Allow sharing of certificates between consumers
      • Non-pooled: Don't allow sharing of certificates between consumers
    • Make your selection and click “Next”.
    • Select the registry from which you want to cancel certificates. If you have certificate holdings from multiple registries captured in the platform, the system will automatically select the registry that contains holdings matching your allocated volumes.
    • In the transfer list below, select the registry accounts you want to use and add them to the “Selected registry accounts”. The system will select certificates from those accounts in a priority order, starting from the first in the list. When sufficient certificate holdings are found, you can click “Next”.
    • You will see a success message: “The allocation is now marked as ‘Pending cancellation’.
    • You can now download a CSV file, which includes a list of certificate volumes per asset and per period to be cancelled in your registry accounts that match the allocation batch in the modal or in the allocation batch event on the “Allocations” page.

Next, you will need to cancel the appropriate certificate volumes in the registry. Once this step is done, upload the registry cancellation transactions to the platform. To do so:

    • Go to the “Transactions” page. Click “Import transactions”.
    • Optionally, you can download a template with a list of columns.
    • Select a CSV file of registry cancellation transactions and upload it.
    • You can view the uploaded transactions on the “Transactions” page.
    • Do not forget to also update your new certificates inventory, post execution of those cancellation transactions.

Next, go back to the “Allocations” page, and find the allocation batch event that is now marked as “Pending cancellation”. In the Actions column, click the button “Finalise allocation”. You will be presented with a modal with the title “Finalise allocation”.

    • Select the cancellation transactions which correspond to the certificates you have cancelled for this specific allocation. Add them to the list “Selected transactions”. Once transaction volumes from the selected transactions cover the allocation volume, a green success message will appear. Click “Finalise allocation”.
    • The allocation is now final.

This means that specific certificate bundle IDs have been mapped to the allocation volume from this allocation batch event. This action cannot be undone.

    • You can view the associated certificate bundles in the Actions column in the allocation batch event by clicking on the button “View associated certificate bundles”.

  1. Alternatively, you might start the process by uploading already performed registry cancellation transactions into the platform and use this pool of cancelled certificates to finalise allocations.
  • The process is as follows:
    • Upload registry cancellation transactions via the “Transactions” page.
    • Go to the “Allocations” page and select an allocation batch event. Click the button “Finalise allocation”.
    • A modal will open. Select the certificate's rounding mode.
    • Select the registry and registry accounts. Select the transactions with unassociated certificate holdings to use to finalise this allocation in the transfer list. Once enough unassociated certificate volumes from transactions have been added, click on “Finalise allocation”.
    • After a moment, the allocation will be finalised and marked as “final”.
    • You can view the associated certificate bundles in the Actions column in the allocation event by clicking on the button “View associated certificate bundles”.

The certificate IDs will be listed in the PDF report for an allocation and a report marked as final.
